Herdade dos Outeiros Altos

 

Located near the town of Estremoz, Herdade dos Outeiros Altos is one of the few wineries to practice organic farming in the Alentejo region. Practicing sustainable, environmentally friendly farming, they create authentic wines that express the richness of the terrain, based on indigenous grape varieties and the local culture dating back  2,000 years to the Roman era. The vineyards are spread through three parcels with different altitudes, ranging from 300 to 350 meters, and different exposures. The vineyards coexist with cork oak trees forest, olive trees and natural pastures. Limited quantities of just a few thousand bottles per year. They are all certified organic.

 
 

Vinho de Talha White

40% Antão Vaz and  60% Arinto . White Talha wine. Skin macerated Natural fermented “Orange” white wine in old clay “amphorae” Heir of 2000 years of Tradition.

Vinho de Talha Red

40% Trincadeira, 30% Alfrocheiro Preto and 30% Aragonez. Natural fermentation in old Talhas of 1200L capacity.  Naturally filtered through the seeds and skins laying at the bottom

Sem Sulfitos

40% Trincadeira, 40% Aragonez, 15% Touriga Nacional and 5% Alfrocheiro. Natural fermentation. Aging 6 months in French oak barrels. Wine is not filtered. Sulphites were not used in the process.
